The pandemic did not stop the Students of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) from continuing to be creative. This time, the UMM student team made an adventure game application called Lail Adventure. Not only as a means of entertainment, but this game also contains educational content about Muhammadiyah figures.

The team consisted of five new students majoring in Informatics Engineering, Farras Danyka Putra, Alif Fatwa Ramadhani, Azzahry Dwi Pramudio, Muhammad Naufal Adiyatma, and Zidan Tri Anggoro. One of the team members, Alif, said that the aim of Lail Adventure is so that children are not only entertained but also receive education from Muhammadiyah.

“We met a lot of children who were too absorbed in playing games and forgot to read. Besides, playing games can also reduce the attention level of these children. Therefore, our team created a game that is not only entertaining but also a means of educating Muhammadiyah character, "said Arif (2/03).

“In Lail Adventure, we use Super Mario as a reference because it is easy to play by various groups. Then we modify the game and guide the player to collect the puzzle pieces. The collected puzzle pieces will be created and arranged at the end of the level. "Said the student born in Samarinda.

Alif admitted that it took about two months to make the game. In the process, several obstacles emerged. One of the reasons is all team members are new students, so there is still a lack of knowledge about coding. They also try to understand coding over the internet and guidance from supervisors.

"Apart from that, our team communication was also not smooth because they were in different areas," said the first child of two siblings.

Remarkably, despite experiencing obstacles, Lail Adventure won second place (22/02) in the Informatics Study Program Association Competition (APSI) held by Muhammadiya University in Makassar, Monday. This achievement inspired the team spirit to keep improving Lail Adventure.

"Now we are developing the application again. In the future, we hope that the wider community can enjoy this game as soon as possible, "he said. (apg / syi / sil)
