The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has inaugurated ten new deans who will lead the captains in each faculty. Also present was the Chairman of the PP Muhammadiyah Diktilitbang Council, Prof. Lincolin Arsyad, Ph.D. and Secretary of the Dairy Development Board (BPH) UMM Drs. Wakidi. The inauguration was carried out online and offline at the BAU Hall on Friday (1/10).

At the event, Lincolin Arsyad was happy because UMM regeneration could continue even though he was still in a pandemic situation. He advised the old deans to provide input even though Sudha was no longer in office. "Work together and help each other so that we can make progress together. I don't think it's easy to lead a faculty at a big university like UMM," he said.

He also emphasized that the challenges ahead are getting more and more. One of them is the COVID-19 pandemic which has changed human life. It is a challenge that must immediately call the right solution, such as aspects of mastering technology. "I believe that the collaboration between the dean and the rector and the entire academic community can answer all the challenges that lie ahead," he said.

Meanwhile, Wakidi reminded the new deans to reflect on the integrity that they had pledged. It is so that they can appreciate and implement their responsibilities well. He also encouraged the deans to think about and consolidate in their respective faculties immediately.

Wakidi also invited the deans to let go of their study programs' identities to lead pretty. "Yesterday, there were different opinions, and now the choice is to reunite immediately. Developing their potential to be able to advance UMM at the national and international levels," he added.

As the Chancellor of UMM, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd, expressed his gratitude to the deans of the previous period who had served well. Likewise, with his hard work to advance faculties and universities. "Hopefully, the struggles of the parents during their tenure are recorded as acts of worship by Allah SWT," he hoped.

Fauzan considers that this inauguration is an essential ritual in any organization. He also feels happy that the process of selecting lecturers for this period has brought a breath of fresh air with no friction. According to him, this requires maturity from various parties.
