There are many fun ways for English to be easily taught to children. One of them is through learning the English For Young Learners (EYL) method on the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Thursday Reading (KaCa) Car road show, in collaboration with the KKN 07 UMM group, Thursday (1/30) morning.

The activity which was participated by students from grade 3 to grade 5 at SDN 1 Jambesari Poncokusumo, Malang Regency was guided directly by Rochmatika Nur Anisa, an EYL lecturer at UMM. "This activity is very suitable for beginner students who want to learn English as a basic foreign language," Anisa said.

Interspersed with a few games called Giving Direction Antonyms and Turn Left Turn Right, is expected to increase the focus on students and improve vocabulary in English.

In addition, the activity also continued with outbound activities in the form of whispering wind games and hola hoop rotating with Lutfi Badillah, UMM students. The activity was continued by reading a book that had been provided by the UMM KaCa Car.

"This school is considered lacking in terms of facilities and infrastructures, so it is very grateful for the arrival of the KaCa Car and the UMM KKN 07 group. It is very grateful to be able to organize the activities in an orderly and calm manner even though the students are very active," said Linda, as a 6th grade teacher in that elementary school.

Ilham Akbar, head of the KKN 07 group explained that the selection of SDN 1 Jambesari as a subject of Fun English learning is due to the lack of teachers. "The knowledge that we have learned on campus must be implemented to the community. Especially for students who want to add more experience and insight," he concluded. (joh)
