PAI Doctoral Program Successfully Achieves Excellent Accreditation

University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) always improves the quality of its education. Not only at the undergraduate level, but also in the doctoral program. Most recently, the doctoral program in Islamic religious education (PAI) has succeeded in obtaining excellent accreditation. This is based on a decree from the Independent Educational Accreditation Institute (Lamdik) issued on November 4.

Head of the UMM PAI Doctoral Program, Dr. Abdul Haris, MA. explained that this achievement was the result of the accreditation application process with a new format. Previously, the PAI UMM doctoral program had also received an A accreditation, then now it is Excellent.

There are a series of indicators that must be completed by his party. Starting from the vision and mission, goals and strategies. Even with governance, cooperation, student affairs, to human resources. "Based on the assessment, our lecturers are quite capable. Until now, there are 13 lecturers who provide new knowledge through various ways such as discussion or research,” he said.

There are also research, service, and outcomes. This includes how the PAI doctoral program can implement the Tri Dharma of higher education in a good and balanced manner. According to Haris, the three are spearheading his side to continue sharing knowledge and knowledge.

Haris continued that the PAI doctoral Department has two programs that are always emphasized. The first is timely graduation so that students can immediately complete their studies and can contribute to society. Then the second is publication which continues to be emphasized as an effort to provide scientific benefits.

Until now, he emphasized that more than 80% of students have graduated on time. Even with publications that continue to be boosted to the maximum. “Currently, there are around 85 doctoral students who are studying at the PAI UMM Doctorate. we also want them to be able to become professional doctors in their fields. Able to anticipate the development of science and technology based on Islam and Muhammadiyah," he said.

Finally, he hoped that the UMM PAI doctorate would be able to make various innovations and efforts to become a progressive institution. So that they can compete at various levels, not only at the national level but also internationally through various ways. (wil)
