There is always something unique and new given by the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). UMM's Introduction to New Student Studies (Pesmaba) was recently animated with flashlight mobs, flash dominoes, and air parties. Even the event, held last Sunday (11/9), invited new students to have TikTok fun together on Heliped simultaneously.
Flashmob at Pesmaba this year is also more challenging because of its high level of complexity. Moreover, the new students do not use additional tools such as paper to form formations. It is enough to use a hat and UMM alma mater. It is an advantage and a difference compared to other college flashmobs.
Counted, more than eleven formations made both the usual flashmob and flashlight mob. The students were asked to turn on the flash on the smartphone. Then by being directed with a specific code to make the formations and shapes that have been prepared—starting from building the UMM symbol, congratulating the Muhammadiyah congress, the Center of Excellence (CoE), UMM Sharing for the Nation, and a series of others.
"Not only do we use red suits and white clothes conventionally, but we also use flashlights from 7500 student gadgets. Because this is the first time we have used multiple commands in one sticker, the challenge is quite heavy. But Alhamdulillah, with teamwork, everything went well," said the Coordinator of Flashmob UMM Jamroji, M.Comms.

In addition, the 2022 UMM Pesmaba also presented an aerial party enlivened by a Cessna Biru Flying Club UMM aircraft bearing CoE and UMM 2022 Pesmaba passing through the White Campus. Meanwhile, another exciting thing was done by a row of paramotor teams who showed action by carrying flags that read UMM Pasti, UMM Sharing for the country, and writings from Muhammadiyah for the Nation.
CoE writing chose because UMM wanted to participate and contribute to the nation. Mainly in producing capable human resources to welcome Golden Indonesia in 2045. With the establishment of more than 40 CoEs, UMM White Campus also encourages the next generation to take full advantage of the demographic bonus. So that Indonesia's target to become a country with a strong economy can be achieved.
UMM also guarantees its students be able to graduate on time, become independent individuals, and work through the UMM Pasti Program. It is also a manifestation of the White Campus's gait in advancing the nation as written in the motto From Muhammadiyah for the Nation.
"We also display the UMM' Sharing for the Nation' flag and formation as a form of enthusiasm to continue contributing to the nation. Whether it's through humanitarian activities, transfer of knowledge, dedication, and various other things, "explained M. Isnaini, M.Pd., the Head of Public Relations of UMM.
On the other hand, one of UMM's new students, Muhammad Faris Kianif, expressed his happiness to be a big family on the White Campus. Especially with the various uniqueness and performances that UMM presented. For him, the series of events was delightful and made him proud to be able to study at the White Campus.
