Proud news came from the Mechatronic Team 3 of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Seven people who are members of the team managed to win third place in the National Energy Saving Car Contest (KMHE) which was held at the Bung Tomo Circuit, Surabaya. The team competed in the ethanol prototype category from October 30 to November 4, 2022. Interestingly, this was also the first experience for team members to compete in a car competition.

Team Leader Muhammad Abid Zaini explained that the event seeks to find car innovations that do not require a lot of energy. So, the more energy efficient you use, the greater the chances of winning.

“So, each team is given five opportunities to race with a certain time limit. Then see which car is the most economical among the participants. Alhamdulillah, our hard work resulted in third place,” he said.
