Unique! This Graduate Rides a Horse alongside a Dogcart to Attend the Graduation Ceremony

It is usual to attend the graduation ceremony by driving a car or riding a motorbike. What if attending a graduation ceremony by riding a horse and followed by family members with a dogcart? It was felt by Nur Avia Aminia Junaedy, our graduate from the psychology department, who attended the graduation ceremony on 15th December 2022. She, in a lively way, rode a horse and was followed by her family group with four dogcarts.

Avia said that she had planned to do that. She feels that a graduation ceremony is a special moment which must be celebrated differently. Then, a dogcart and a horse were her vehicle choices to celebrate the graduation moment. “This moment, especially, is once in a lifetime. I want to remember it until I am old later,” Avia said.

Since a long time ago, this woman from Malang has been fond of riding a horse. Her father instructed her to domesticate and ride a horse. Avia even rode a horse from her house until DOME, where the graduation ceremony was held. Furthermore, her house distance in Tegalgondo is not quite far from the White Campus, so it is easy for her to reach the graduation place.

Fortunately, both her parents allowed her to ride a horse when her graduation moment. They even supported it because her parents have a farm not far from home. “Alhamdulillah, I am allowed to make a sweet memory. I also expect UMM to be able to keep developing various things and to advance, so it can reach many achievements and provide quality education services,” Avia asserted.

Meanwhile, her father, Usman Junaedy, explained that his daughter has been interested in animals, mainly a cow and a horse, since she was a kid. It was because Usman’s to take Avia to his farm. Currently, he owns several cows and horses.

“I even want Avia to ride a big cow, not a horse. But she chose to ride a horse for her graduation. Accidentally, we do have a cattle farm. Related to a horse, I am fond of taking care of and riding a horse. It turns out that my daughter also likes it and accompanies me when treating a cow or a horse,” he said

Lastly, Usman expects his daughter to continue her academic background in higher education. He believes that with education, happiness and prosperity can be achieved. Usman and his wife also express their appreciation and gratitude to UMM, which provides various facilities, so their daughter can study well and finish her academic journey with satisfactory results.

“Hopefully, UMM can constantly spread its benefits in various ways. I believe that the White Campus will receive many achievements. Once again, thank you for educating my daughter well,” he ended. (imh/wil)
