Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) continues to engage in various developments and collaborations. Most recently, UMM established a partnership with CIMB Niaga Bank on May 20th. This Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) is a follow-up to various previous collaborations.
Kenyo Indri, the Branch Manager of CIMB Niaga Malang Branch, stated that the collaboration is not only aimed at providing financial literacy and management education to students but also at facilitating the payment of Single Tuition Fees (UKT), Education Development Funds (DPP), and other tuition payments.
"CIMB Niaga also has several collaborative programs, such as savings and checking accounts, both for the university and students," she said.

Additionally, they will organize an interesting event titled "Kejar Mimpi" (Chase the Dream). This event will cover themes such as cybercrime and financial literacy and is intended for 700 to 800 students. Besides receiving a Certificate of Competency and Work Skills (SKPI), students will also gain knowledge related to banking. Moreover, students can also get free savings accounts.
On the other hand, Prof. Dr. Sidik Sunaryo, SH. M.Hum., the Secretary of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang, explained that the partnership between UMM and the bank goes beyond just students paying their tuition fees, DPP, and practicum fees. CIMB Niaga is also expected to be present in student activities, such as entrepreneurship. "That is how CIMB Niaga Bank can play an important role in supporting and developing entrepreneurial talents among students," Sidik explained.
Sidik feels that if students want to start a business, they still face difficulties in accessing capital due to a lack of trust in banks. Therefore, this collaboration between UMM and CIMB Niaga is expected to open up schemes that can be further discussed.

This collaboration will also make it easier for students to conduct banking transactions. If students have talent or potential in entrepreneurship, they will be able to access funding at CIMB Niaga Bank easily. (dev/wil/fajr)
