The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) has successfully maintained its title as an Excellent campus. This is stated in the Decree of BAN-PT No. 494/SK/BAN-PT/Ak.Ppj/PT/VIII/2022 which was dropped last Tuesday (30/8). This strengthens the reputation of the White Campus as a university of national and international repute. This predicate is the highest peak of the higher education accreditation system.
Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. The Chancellor of UMM emphasized that this accreditation is a form of UMM's seriousness in running higher education. According to him, greatness and strength are not enough to be expressed in words but must be proven through recognition, both accreditation, and certification.
Accreditation also illustrates the credibility of universities as institutions that organize tri dharma. He is grateful that UMM has always been trusted to carry out the title of Excellent accreditation campus. According to him, this cannot be separated from the cooperation of all elements and parties at the White Campus.

Even so, Fauzan considered that this accreditation was not enough. There must be an effort to take responsibility, one of which is to convince the public that UMM is worthy of Superior accreditation. Not only through verbal and audiovisual channels but also to ensure that the output and alumni of UMM can become independent individuals.
“So, dozens of Center of Excellence (CoE) programs at UMM have an important role to achieve that goal. How students can have skills that are by the industry so that they can become independent individuals. Not only being a worker but also being able to open up job opportunities for the wider community," he said.
White Campus also always strives to produce alumni who are independent and at the same time take into account the community. UMM does not want to be recognized formally but is also recognized as superior by the wider community thanks to its contribution. Thus, the PASTI UMM Program has a role in this goal by ensuring students graduate on time, must be independent, and work. That way, UMM can make a big contribution to realizing Indonesia Gold 2045.
The same thing was also conveyed by Prof. Dr. Syamsul Arifin, M.Sc. as Vice Chancellor I of UMM. According to him, UMM is an excellent campus. So there needs to be an effort to appreciate, care for and maintain it to get recognition from the government and the community. One of the hopes is that there will be an increase in public interest in the implementation of education at the White Campus. Likewise with the increase in the number of collaborations undertaken.

Other forms of UMM's efforts that can be seen are various international certifications and dozens of study programs-based CoEs. According to him, the presence of CoE in collaboration with the Business and Industrial World (DUDI) provides opportunities, certainty, and experience for students. CoE is also considered to be able to further strengthen UMM's achievements in obtaining Superior accreditation, both based on study programs and institutions.
“This Superior Accreditation is one of the stages that UMM must go through. White Campus is always moving and taking systematic and strategic steps to gain recognition at a higher level, namely international," he concluded. (*wil)
