The Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FTTE) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang express appreciation and action to all Indonesian teachers through reading poetry, discussing, and singing the teacher hymn. The agenda conducted on 25th November 2022 involved employees and lecturers. The White Campus students, who came, also enlivened the event.
Dr Trisakti Handayani, M. M., the Dean of the FTTE of UMM, said that education is crucial in fostering a nation. Creating a responsible generation, who can overcome future challenges, is one of the things. She quoted Nelson Mandela, emphasising, "Education is the most powerful weapon you can use to change the world."
The woman, who is familiarly called "Trisakti", further explained that education improvement must keep going because the era keeps thriving, so excellent human resources must always appear by the period.
She also perceives that teachers play an essential role in education. They direct, educate, and give the best example for their learners. Teachers even inspire the young generation to dream high for the future. They also contribute to generating the nation's upcoming generation and the best leader for Indonesia.
Trisakti asserted, "Then, in this opportunity, the FTTE of UMM expresses its appreciation to all teachers who have donated their life to objectify the best education. We also always motivate teachers and candidates of teachers to struggle in the field of education to realise a better Indonesia."
The Head of the Student Executive Body of the Faculty of Teacher Training of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, M. Nurudin, shares a similar idea. From his point of view, the FTTE not only demands its students to become a teacher but also an educator. One of the applicable things is being the agent of change in the middle of society. It does not need to begin from bigger things; conversely, it simply starts from a smaller environment.

He continued that a teacher is a light. Meanwhile, Nurudin described university students as the fuel for teachers to advance. Then, they must assist their teachers in fostering the nations' children by offering fresh or innovative teaching models.
"In commemorating this Teacher's Day, we not only are holding the ceremonial events but also conducting discussions related to anxiety encountered by teachers, the educators of nations' children", he concluded. (imh/wil)
