Music is truly an artwork that unites individuals regardless of their ethnic background. Muhammad Yusuf Al Qodri, a communication science student at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, uttered the statement. He successfully obtained the best champion of the Cipta Jingle competition (Translated: Jingle Creation) held by the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia in November 2022.

Aldo, as familiarly addressed, told his story that he had started to feel interested in music in elementary school. Uniquely, he likes music played in telly soap operas, especially since every soap opera has its particular song, and it depicts the story of the related soap opera. It was the starting point for Aldo to begin to play musical instruments and to write song lyrics by self-taught.

"At that time, I felt those soap operas were impressive because having special styles of music and song. To develop my hobby, I also attended a music school in Jogja Audio School for three months," he said.

The Lumajang student claims that it took ten days for him to create a jingle. Because of obstacles in finding inspiration, Aldo eventually had to bring his recorder everywhere, so when Aldo derived emerging ideas, he could directly record them to avoid disappearing. Fortunately, he has a good support system environment, like his family, who always supports his hobby and friends, who constantly give him feedback.

On the other hand, Aldo feels grateful for choosing UMM to study. Besides the university's excellent curriculum and educational service, he perceives that the White Campus always supports every student's potential, including music, which has become his passion for honing his creativity.

"I always feel anxious about whether the jingle I created is decent to listen to or not. Whether the music I play is interesting to listen to for the public. However, because of support from various parties, I can pass all the obstacles," Aldo expressed.

The student who is excellent at playing the piano, guitar, and saxophone expects this achievement to be his fuel to remake new achievements in the future. He also wishes to release owned album soon, targeted in December. "Music always becomes an escape place for young people. Music can heal disappointment, bring joy, and even motivate to keep creating achievements," he ended (imh/haq/wil)
