Now people don't need to be confused anymore to find a comfortable and safe waterboom to be a tourist destination. The latest one is Waterboom Sengkaling University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) which has just been inaugurated. Not only waterboom, this one recreational park also provides a variety of rides that you can try. As for the Eid holiday last week, this Waterboom was seen to be packed with visitors.
Dr. Achmad Mohyi, M.M. as general manager of Sengkaling UMM explained that this water boom was one of the planned innovations. Especially in welcoming a normal life after this pandemic is over. In addition, the existence of this waterboom is an effort to add to the existing rides in the recreation park. Not only water booms made by science and technology but also Pesitek Ships that provide educational facilities.

"So it's not only water booms that we know but also science and technology cruises that can be visited. There are various teaching aids and science training. One of them is an air conservation tool and hazardous waste processing using the UMM Mechanical Engineering Laboratory," he explained.
Mohyi, his nickname, emphasized that the Sengkaling Waterboom UMM is always checked regularly and prioritizes safety. In terms of construction, strong support is ready to support the slide. There is the staff who are also supervising to keep an eye on the visitors to anticipate things that are not desirable.
When using the slide, his party also provides a maximum weight for visitors of 70 kilograms. When sliding, visitors are also asked to do it alternately and one by one. In this way, the possibility of accidents can be reduced.
"If we look at the tragedy at Kenpark last week, it can be seen that the capacity of the sliding visitors has exceeded the standard until an accident occurs. This can be a lesson for waterbooms and other tourist destinations to continue to check regularly and always put safety first,” said the lecturer from Sampang.
This UMM management lecturer also hopes that Sengkaling can become an attractive tourist destination for the community. One of them is by fixing, updating and adding unique rides. He also said that in the future, Sengkaling will carry the concept of The Legend of Edupark. That way, people who come are not only looking for entertainment but can also get an education.
"With this concept, visitors are not just refreshing, but there is new knowledge that can be obtained," he concluded. (haq/wil)
