National Education Day Ceremony at UMM

It appears that the academic community of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) fills the White Campus Helipad. They held a ceremony to commemorate National Education Day on May 2nd, 2024. In addition to strengthening the spirit of education, the agenda gave a series of awards for the best lecturers, best employees, best students, and public relations teams of study programs and faculties.

As the inspector of the ceremony, UMM Rector Prof. Dr. Nazaruddin Malik, M.Si., explained that this commemoration emphasizes that education is the main support for the progress of national civilization. The moment of reflection and muhasabah must be made as a multi-faceted way of thinking. Especially to understand the extent to which education is the driving force of Indonesia's progress.

According to him, for people who work in the field of education, a flexible attitude and commitment to managing institutions well must be prioritized above other concerns, as well as providing solutions to educational problems.

"The economy must be kept stable, but education must also be invested in more. Especially in equalizing participation and the quality of each education," said Nazar, his nickname.

Therefore, Nazar emphasized that the academic community must be able to strengthen their determination to advance the education process through their respective duties and roles. "Hopefully, with this commemoration, we are energized to dedicate ourselves. Advancing education and producing a superior next generation in order to advance and prosper Indonesia," he concluded.

During the ceremony, the marching band team also performed several songs. They gave an injection of enthusiasm for the educators, lecturers, and employees. There was even a choir team that performed national and regional songs. (wil/put)
