The Omnibuslaw Job Creation Act was ratified on November 2, 2020, by the Republic of Indonesia, Joko Widodo. But until now, there are still many debates from officials, academics to experts. Seeing this, the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), in collaboration with the House of Representatives-Republic of Indonesia (DPR RI), held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme "Policy Directions for Amendment to Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation after the Decision of the Constitutional Court". The FGD that invited Ir. Andreas Eddie Susetyo, MM (Member of the Indonesian Parliament) and Dr. Inosentius Samsul, S.H., M. Hum. (Head of the DPR RI Expertise Board) was held on Tuesday (8/3).

Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., as the Chancellor of UMM, explained that this forum could spark creative ideas and suggestions in responding to this Job Creation Act. Later, these ideas can be used as the basis for increasing potential and creativity in job creation. "I certainly hope that this forum can produce ideas that can support good developments in the field of creative work," he said.

On the same occasion, Andreas revealed that the law resulted from a decision by the Constitutional Court that was declared conditionally unconstitutional. Based on this decision, the Ciptaker Law must be amended again.
However, several parties said that a breakthrough in this regulation should take precedence considering its status, which is still conditionally unconstitutional and must be revised with a two-year deadline.

Furthermore, he also wanted the FGD that was held to produce productive and critical proposals. Mainly in developing economic transformation in the future. Likewise, efforts to control government administration are still homework until now. "I also appreciate the academics who are involved in this discussion. Likewise with UMM, which has carried out very well," he said.

Meanwhile, Inosentius Samsul said that his party, the body of expertise, had the main task of assisting the work of the DPR RI. One of them is preparing an academic text to form this Job Creation Act. In addition, it also cooperates with various universities to provide criticism, suggestions, and ideas for the Copyright Act.

According to him, this omnibus law is considered a regulatory solution. But still, have to be careful with the legislation. Therefore, this forum was held to see what was lacking and what could be improved in this law. He believes that UMM can continue to provide solution ideas in solving the nation's problems.

"I certainly hope that the chancellors and experts can go hand in hand. Mainly in solving problems in the life of the nation and state," he explained.

On the other hand, Vice-Chancellor IV Dr. Sidik Sunaryo, SH., M.Sc., M.Hum said that this FGD aimed to criticize what was contained in the Ciptaker Law. Not only from UMM but also from various other universities. "At least there are many benefits and suggestions that can be received and found in this schedule. So there will be many perspectives that who will convey directly to the DPR RI," he concluded. (apg/haq/wil)
