UMM, The Only Indonesian Campus That Has Aerospace UKM

University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) always provides breakthroughs and innovations. The White Campus is opening a Student Activity Unit (UKM) in aerospace under the name Biru Flying Club. Interestingly, UMM is also the only Campus with programs related to aerospace.

The UMM Flying Club also complements more than 60 SMEs owned by the white Campus. M. Isnaini, M.Pd. as the coach, said that nowadays young people have various passions and interests. One of the things that attracted attention was his passion for the aerospace field.

"We will certainly open this club as wide as possible for any interested students. Especially with the principle that we firmly hold that leaders can be born from any door, and One of them is through the Biru Flying Club door," he said.

Krisna, his nickname, also emphasized that UMM is the only Campus that has a place for aerospace passion. Likewise, being the only campus part of the Indonesian Aero Sport Federation (FASI). According to him, this is a strategic breakthrough to find qualified talents for the future.

Later, the Biru Flying Club will provide a series of exciting activities. Aero sport flight training and paragliding are two of them. There are also paramotor and drone fields that have been provided. As for the implementation, all sports will be supervised directly by experts in their respective fields.

The lecturer from Lombok said that there are more than 50 members who have joined so far. They have also attended a series of introductions and training. The UKM continues to establish intense communication and is fully supported by the Abd Air Base. Saleh and FASI in preparation for the implementation of aerospace activities. That way, various actions can be synergized and run safely and smoothly.

"Each activity certainly has its challenges. Likewise, Biru Flying Club must find students with the best talents. In addition, you must also have strong and tough guts. White Campus consistently appreciates all achievements, innovations, and academic community creativity. This is in line with the principle that we always uphold, namely that no achievement is not appreciated," he concluded.

Meanwhile, the Biru UKM Flying Club chairman, Nixon Farrel Mahatma, said several activities had already been held. One of them is briefing and basic training before doing aerospace sports activities later. That way, they don't just do their activities and provide security for each participant.

Nixon also mentioned various reasons for the students to join the UKM. Some want to know more about airplanes, some want to try aerospace sports, some want to feel the sensation of activities in UKM with other friends. "We do have various reasons to join this UKM, but one thing for sure is that we want to find and become future talents who can contribute to the achievements of the aerospace field from UMM students," he added. (apg/wil)
