UMM Strengthened Innovation in the Health Field with the MARA Technological University

Childbirth garners the most crucial attention in this era, especially considering the safety risk and ratio. Then, in this case, the Faculty of Health Science of UMM collaborated with the MARA Technological University of Malaysia to conduct an international symposium. The theme of the seminar was Advances in Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Both universities have signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), aiming to advance the health field on January 20, 2023.

Prof. Ir. Rasidi Razali, the Rector of the MARA Technological University, explained that this collaboration provides an open chance for joint research, student and cultural exchange programs, and other collaborative programs. 

"This MoU certainly can enhance the quality of the two universities internationally, primarily with available opportunities," emphasized Rasidi.

On the other hand, the Rector of UMM, Dr. Fauzan, M. Pd., appraised that this cooperation can successfully contribute to society. Meanwhile, the symposium was for a means to spread knowledge in the health field.

"One expected thing is to provide research, which will be immediately perceived by society, and to give applicable innovation, primarily, in the health aspect." said the Rector of UMM.

Fauzan considers the University of Muhammadiyah Malang and the MARA Technological University excellent universities. Then, the signed MoU can enhance both universities' capacity, capability, and academic quality.

The same idea is in line with Dr. Yoyok Bekti Prasetyo, M. Kep., Sp. Kom., the Dean of the Faculty of Health Science of UMM. He stated that previously his team had been involved in a research article collaboration. Then, the Dean feels that this collaboration can strengthen the kinship between Indonesia and Malaysia. He expects the representative of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang to visit the MARA Technological University directly and vice versa to do an MoU agreement in the future.

"We not only sign an MoU and hold a symposium but also attempt to positively impact the world of health," ended Yoyok. (imh/haq/wil)
