The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) is expanding its cooperation with the Dutch IT company Novo. The discussion between both companies has also been held on August 23. Previously, Novo had also collaborated with UMM's Informatics Engineering Study Program to work on the Ngaji.AI project, a Quran learning application for children. Representatives from the Kedaireka Dikti program were also present.

Chief Operating Officer (COO) of PT Novo Indonesia Maria Vanessa said that the meeting also discussed the improvement of the Ngaji.AI application. Later, this collaboration will focus on collecting datasets of Quran teacher recordings and developing learning modules. Thus, children can use it more easily.

"There were also improvements in the vocal training feature to provide more accurate feedback for users. Our plan is to create an application that can show user errors when learning by using the application. Therefore, the datasets in this application are crucial," he added.

Vanessa continued the data that UMM has collected can also be advertised to the public. Moreover, Ngaji.AI will be used for advanced learning in the university area.

She hopes this collaboration can be a good start, especially regarding the implementation of applications at the university level and the general public. Thus, Quran learning can be more focused and well-integrated. Novo also wants Ngaji.Ai to be used in various fields. For example, in learning Al-Islam and Kemuhammadiyaan (AIK) on the White Campus.

On the other hand, UMM Rector Prof. Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., appreciated the collaborative steps taken by Novo and the UMM informatics engineering study program. According to him, ideas like this must be generated as a solution to problems that occur in society. Everything must follow technological development. Otherwise, it won't be easy.

"This application is a good breakthrough. Moreover, the children nowadays understand how to use gadgets. They will find it easy to learn and recite the Quran. It's just a matter of how it will be implemented," she ended. (Put/Tri/Wil)
