The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Center of Excellence (CoE) continues. To lead students to become independent individuals, White Campus is now partnering with PT. Pemalang Agro Wangi to open a professional essential oil class. The signing of the cooperation held on Wednesday (13/1) is expected to create profitable opportunities for both parties.

UMM Rector, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. I want the CoE in the Faculty of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry and the Faculty of Health Sciences to be a beacon for students. It's not just a program of style and prestige. Moreover, many parties have appreciated this, both from academia and from Industry and the World of Work (Iduka).

According to Fauzan, building a CoE is not an easy matter. Serious efforts are needed to prepare a strong foundation. He also encouraged this program to produce derivative products. Forming a supportive ecosystem for students, lecturers, and even industry.

"Don't just stop at the cooperation signing process. There must be activities that are implemented to deliver independent students and alumni. Now, if we only think linearly, we will undoubtedly be left behind. Must immediately think ahead and zigzag, "he added.

It was agreed by the Director of Investment and Business Development of PT. Pemalang Agro Wangi Muhammad Aminudin. There must be business development in a new way that follows technology—mainly products produced by the company. According to him, essential oils are currently rising among the public.

Even though he already owns more than 80 hectares of land, his party can still not meet the demand, especially for export needs. So this collaboration is expected to provide innovation and input to create opportunities. Not only for PT. Pemalang Agro Wangi only but also for UMM White Campus.

Furthermore, to achieve the goals of each institution, concrete steps, and an organized action plan are needed. "The most important thing is how we can move quickly. Take action first; even if the capital is insufficient, God willing will provide later. Besides that, I think that we all feel more than enough for the stomach. However, this effort is part of advancing other local entrepreneurs," said Amin.

Meanwhile, the Coordinator of UMM Assistant Rector, Prof. Dr. Ir. Sujono, M.Kes. assessed that UMM and the company needed each other. Moreover, it is driven by the policy of the Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program from the Ministry of Education and Culture.

This collaboration is also considered capable of providing product security guarantees as well as user security. That way, public trust will increase because the products used have gone through a trial process. Likewise, the campus can provide work experience for students. "So, the goal to lead them to become independent graduates can be achieved with definite and measurable steps," added Jono. (cdr/wil)
