Online games are experiencing rapid development in terms of features and tournaments. Although initially only a game to fill spare time, now the role of online games has increased to become a sport and a field that excels. The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Student Team made a proud achievement, who won 1st Place in the PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds (PUBG) Mobile Champion Offline Tournament. The tournament, which Electronic Sports Indonesia organized (ESI) Malang Raya, lasted for one whole day on Saturday (16/07).

Mohammad Andrey Maulana Bahri, a UMM team (PUBGM) member, explained that he and the team were members of the UMM Esports Student Activity Unit (UKM). This UKM was only formed and inaugurated in January 2022. Therefore, It was the first competition that Andrey and his team participated in as representatives of UMM Esports.

"Although this is the first time for my friends and me to represent UMM Esports UKM, I don't feel tense at all. This happened because other team members and I have often participated in tournaments from national to international levels since entering Junior High School," said the student majoring in Social Welfare.

Furthermore, Andrey shared that his team had prepared with intense training for two weeks before the tournament started. The exercise was performed four times a week with an increase in hours from one to two hours to three to four hours. "We do the exercises ourselves at night, so they don't collide with lecture activities. Thanks to this intense preparation, our team was not surprised by such a top-class match," said the student who was born in Banyuwangi.

Despite having a lot of competitive experience and rigorous training, there are always obstacles in every match. Andrey and his team also experience this. The eldest of the two brothers said that the competition was very fierce. "Each team is very tricky and has equal abilities so that no one team is superior. This is what makes the competition run very tight," said Andrey.

In the match, Andrey was accompanied by his team members, namely Hardland Putra Mahardika from the Faculty of Law, Mohammad Andrey M.B from the Department of Social Welfare, Royyan Adhinata from the Department of Informatics, Adrian Kharisma from the Department of Government Science, and Bayu Dwi Kurniawan from the Department of Development Economics. Andrey hopes that the training process can be sharpened again in the future so that the team's ability can increase.

"In addition, I hope to increase the synergy between team members to build a team fight with the ambition to win. I see our Team Fight is still not strong. Therefore, I hope that in the future, we can further sharpen our tem fight with intense exercises," he concluded. (cdr/haq/syi)
