The decision about the certainty of Eid al-Fitr in Indonesia is several times not the same between one organization or group. The difference in the method used is the reason why there is a difference in days. It is not uncommon for this to trigger quarrels and disputes.

This phenomenon attracted the attention of a lecturer at the Faculty of Islamic Studies, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), Dr. Pradana Boy Zulian, S.Ag, M.A. He said that Muslims need to be reminded of the importance of intensify morals for others, especially regarding differences in mazhab. Thus, there will be a manner to respect and appreciate the differences in mazhabs that are believed within each other.

"Morals must be above Islamic laws. Don't feel that our principles are perfectly correct and others are one hundred percent wrong," said the man from Lamongan.

According to him, the implementation of religious orders must bring benefits. The laws in the Quran and Hadith will not change. However, human thoughts and interpretations may change.

"This is called fiqh, which is the result of the understanding and interpretation of experts on events whose laws are not found in the Alauran and Hadith," he said.

Although there are many differences, the goal that Muslims want to pursue is same, namely getting rewards from Allah. Moreover, according to him, it is impossible for the scholars to deliberately mislead millions of people from various groups. So, Boy suggested that everyone should actively participate in the organization, as long as the organization is in accordance with Islamic sharia.

"The point of participating an organization is not to be fanatical, but as a way of having a guarantee. Although the guarantee is not truthful. The great scholars in it are also unlikely to lead and compete to make mistakes," he said.

Mu'adz's expertise in fiqh and science, made him often received praise from the Muhammad. He said that if the most important guideline in adjudication is the book of the Koran and its sunnahs. However, if Mu'adz did not find it, then he would use his mind to make ijtihad.

"The diversity can be referred to as a way for us to appreciate God's gift and creation, which is the mind. So that difference actually shows that the human mind works. Because it is impossible for all people to be the same, having differences in celebrating Eid al-Fitr or fasting is not a problem that should be exaggerated. The important thing is that we fulfill the fasting sharia with sincerity and earnestness," he added. (put/*nel/wil)
