Muhammadiyah cadres must be excellent and clean servants and be able to become caliphs on earth. It was confirmed by the General Chairperson of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive (PP), Prof. Dr. Haedar Nasir, M.Si., in the National Seminar and 5th National Coordination Meeting of the PP Muhammadiyah Cadre Education Council. The series of events was held at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on Tuesday (18/10).

Interestingly, awards were also awarded to three global cadres who have made extraordinary contributions to cadres. The three are Drs. Mohammad Djazman Al-Kindi, Prof. Dr. A. Malik Fadjar, M.Sc. and Ir. Dasron Hamid, M.Sc. In addition, there are awards for six institutions that have succeeded in producing the best cadres. One of them was from Garut, who was able to give birth to Ustad Adi Hidayat.

Furthermore, Haedar considered cadre reconstruction a critical step. According to him, the key to the sustainability of Muhammadiyah, Islam, and even the nation depends on its people. So, in Muhammadiyah, cadres have an essential role. People are chosen and are called the arrows of Muhammadiyah.

The role of the elected cadres is also contained in the construction of Islam in his treatise. Haedar explained God gave the part of two figures to humans. First, Abdullah, a servant of Allah, is a good human being who always obeys God unconditionally. Then the second is as a caliph on earth who the angels doubt because it has the potential for controversy.

"Even so, the figure of the caliph also has the advantage of prospering the universe and the earth. The caliph is also dynamic and progressive even though he occasionally makes mistakes," he continued.

According to him, a Muslim must be reasonable and valuable for society, nation, and state. That is what the hadith means, as the best human being is a worthwhile human being.

Thus, Haedar emphasized that this paradigm must be understood in how Muhammadiyah reconstructs and changes our mindset about cadres. How can a cadre reflect and integrate the figures of Abdullah and caliph fil ardh in various worldly identifications. One of them is in the world of education.

"So, this agenda is the right time to formulate a cadre system to create humans who are not only good and clean as servants, but also humans who understand potential and are useful," said Haedar.

On the same occasion, the Rector of UMM, Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., considered that this Rakornas was not merely a routine agenda. Because according to him, ordinary things can make you complacent and eventually forget you. Although this is an organizational ritual, Fauzan emphasized that the participants interpreted it as something unusual.

"The big hope is to be able to change the mindset in designing and developing the Muhammadiyah cadre system according to what is needed in the future," said the Rector from Kediri. (cdr/wil)
