Isdian Anggraeny, S.H., M.Kn, as the head of the law laboratory at the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), successfully achieved the 1st Best Paper and Presenter award at the International Conference and National Annual Meeting of the Law Laboratory Association of Indonesia. The event took place last December in Samarinda, East Kalimantan. This achievement cannot be separated from his discussion regarding the concept of learning the Center of Excellence (CoE) Law, which is in direct contact with advocates.

Isdian shared that the creation of this paper was part of the International Conference. She had approximately a month to formulate and present her ideas, which were then delivered in person at the event's culmination.

In the paper, she explained the CoE Legal program at UMM, which employs an integrated work-based learning model. One aspect discussed was the concept of resolving legal disputes through the CoE Assistant Advocate Class program. The CoE also aims to provide real-world experiences to students.

"There, I emphasized that the CoE Assistant Advocate at UMM aims to prepare students for the professional world. Upon graduation, they can become excellent and competitive professionals," she stated.

Isdian mentioned that many participants and laboratory managers showed interest in the CoE. She received various questions during her presentation.

"They were very impressed with UMM's initiative to create the CoE program, whereas other campuses usually focus on internships and may differ in student research emphasis," she said.

She chose to focus on the CoE study because of the limited number of campuses implementing similar initiatives. She hopes the CoE can inspire other universities to develop similar programs, thereby producing highly qualified legal professionals.

The conference featured various international and national speakers from different universities who engaged in discussions and presented innovations to advance the field of law.

"From this International Conference, I gained much new knowledge to develop the concept of learning in preparing students. This is proof of the importance of keeping an open mind and staying eager to learn as educators, even though we have already become educators," she concluded. (ri/wil/fajr)
