Muhammadiyah University of Malang (UMM) again improves the quality of education by achieving superior accreditation study programs. The good news came from the Biology Education Study Program (Study Program). The determination of distinguished accreditation is valid until August 2026.
Chairman of the Biology Education Study Program, Dr. Rr. Eko Susetyarini, M.Sc, explained a series of aspects assessed by the National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN-PT) in determining superior accreditation. The assessment includes the number of permanent lecturers, curriculum, quality assurance, and graduation track.
"Alhamdulillah, we have fulfilled all the assessment criteria determined by BAN-PT well. For example, the number of permanent lecturers who have met the requirements. Then we have also implemented the Outcome-Based Education (OBE) curriculum and Merdeka Learning and the Merdeka Campus (MBKM). In addition, lecturers and students also carry out many scientific publications in national and international accredited journals. Finally, the Biology Education lecturer is also ranked in the top ten in Alper Doger (AD) Scientific Index, "explained the Samarinda doses.
Furthermore, Eko, his nickname, said that to improve the quality of students' skills, the Biology Education Study Program also opened a superior class called the Center of Excellence (COE) orchid. The excellent class of orchid development has collaborated with various industries and the world of work (iduka). Call it the Indonesian Orchid Association of East Java and DD Orchid Nursery.
"This superior class is held for six months and can be followed by UMM students and outside campus. During this period, we also opened the leading class of orchids for high school students (SMA) equivalent. It is hoped that we can print capable generations who have interesting skills, "said the lecturer in the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education (FKIP).
Regarding superior accreditation achievements, Eko claimed to be very proud. According to him, which can obtain this achievement thanks to the hard work of all elements, not only campuses but students and alumni. In the future, Biology Education Study Program is also preparing a bilingual class for international students and also increasing the number of research, service, and publication at the international level.
