A competitive environment forms good mental and scientific knowledge for students in developing capacity. They come up with exciting ideas to understand. One of them is the idea of Ragil Efendi and Muhammad Nur Cahyo Efendi Firdaus, students of the Nursing Science Department, Faculty of Health Science (FIKES) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Joined in one team, both of them could win 3rd place in the national essay competition. The competition was organized by the Student Executive Board (BEM) of STIKES Panrita Husada Bulukumba (PHB) at the end of last February.

Ragil Efendi as the group representative, explained that their idea started with the increasing number of diabetes mellitus patients. Moreover, seeing the healing period is quite long. Ragil said that diabetes mellitus is caused by an irregular lifestyle and minimal stress management. So, he and his colleagues finally wrote the idea to create a diabetes mellitus rehabilitation application.

"In addition, reducing the number of sufferers of this disease, our application is also trying to prevent people from getting and suffering from diabetes," he explained.

Ragil, his nickname, said that the application of his idea would be equipped with various useful features. For example, the Education feature will provide understanding and knowledge of symptoms and their handling. A My Activity feature also suggests exercise activities to reduce blood sugar levels. Then there is also the Take My Medicine feature, which reminds users when it is time to take medicine.

"Finally, the Consultation feature provides users services if they want to consult and get recommendations from the nearest doctor or nutritionist," he explained.

He revealed that the team's cohesiveness was quite challenging to maintain during the preparation. He has his own opinions and ideas, while his colleagues also have different ideas. Luckily, both of them were able to contain their respective egos and make it an exciting idea. The lack of references and understanding of making applications is also an obstacle for them.

The student from Dampit, Malang Regency, hopes to generate other ideas and works. Not only results that are useful for himself, but also able to spread benefits in the community. he also does not close the door to learning and developing his best potential in the future. "Of course, I want to realize this application by learning coding and other application development tools. Hopefully, it can be a bright spot for diabetics," he concluded. (cdr/haq/wil)
