UMM FK Student Wins the National Podcast

In the current era of disruption, podcasts have become one of the most popular audio media for the public. Not only as a product to be heard, now many podcast competitions produce reliable podcasters. This time, Jesica Lucky Mar'atus Sholiha, a student of the Faculty of Medicine (FK), succeeded in making the name of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) proud. Even though he is still a new student, he was able to win 1st place in a podcast at the national level at a 2021 Psycompetition event. This event was held by the Indonesian Psychology Student Institute Association (ILMPI) Region III Central Java, had virtually at the end of last December.

Jesica, her nickname, said that she has been interested in podcasts since 2019. She always listens to exciting podcasts. For example, the Early Sunday Podcast was hosted by Adriano Qalbi, one of the national comedians. Hearing that there was a podcast competition, Jesica rushed to register. Moreover, knowing the potential talent podcast she has.

Furthermore, two weeks before the competition, she made preparations to compile podcast material. She chose a monologue podcast in this competition. The theme she raised was mental health with the title "Maintaining Health in a Pandemic Period." During preparation, she must compose a script to look for phenomena, facts, and tips on maintaining mental health.

"During the preparation, I certainly needed various true phenomena and facts. Then solve the problem and provide a solution with a little research. Until finally, it can be used as a podcast to share knowledge," she said.

In her podcast, this new student from Faculty of Medical Education again explained how to maintain health during a pandemic. Likewise, with a series of tips. In addition, he also discussed the concept of healing with various kinds. "I certainly don't care about the material. You have to see a phenomenon that gives a lot of stress to people," she explained.

She felt that she could not divide his lecture time and prepare for the competition during the competition. Especially when it coincided with the exam schedule, which was not easy. The confusion of dividing the time made him give up time to sleep. Luckily, his sacrifice gave maximum results through Podcast works.

The Students from Sumbermanjing Wetan, Malang Regency, hope to participate in similar competitions. He feels happy because the things he likes can bring the fragrance of his name and his beloved UMM Campus. Podcasts are also considered to train the concepts of thinking, creativity, and self-confidence. "Hopefully, I can make my Podcast regularly. Mahasiswi asli Sumbermanjing Wetan, Kabupaten Malang ini berharap dapat mengikuti lomba-lomba sejenis. Ia merasa senang karena hal yang ia sukai ternyata bisa membawa harum namanya dan Kampus UMM tercinta.Podcast juga dirasa bsia melatih konsep berpikir, kreativitas dan kepercayaan dirinya. “Semoga saya bisa membuat podcast saya sendiri secara reguler. Kali ini Jesica Lucky Mar’atus Sholiha, mahasiwa Fakultas Kedokteran (FK) sukses mengharumkan nama Universitas Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). Meski masih mahasiswa baru, ia sanggup meraih juara 1 podcast tingkat nasional di sebuah event Psycompetition 2021. Adapun ajang ini diadakan oleh Ikatan Lembaga Mahasiswa Psikologi Indonesia (ILMPI) Wilayah III Jawa Tengah, yang dilaksanakan secara virtual pada tanggal akhir Desember lalu.

Jesica, sapaan akrabnya menceritakan bahwa ia memiliki minat kepada podcast sejak tahun 2019. Ia senantiasa mendengarkan procast-pordcast menarik. Sebut saja Podcast Awal Minggu yang dibawakan oleh Adriano Qalbi, salah satu komika nasional. Mendengar adanya kompetisi podcast, Jesica bergegas mendaftarkan diri. Apalagi mengetahui ptensi bakat podcast yang dimilikinya.

Lebih lanjut, dua minggu sebelum lomba ia telah melakukan persiapan untuk menyusun materi podcast. Ia memilih podcast monolog dalam perlombaan kali ini. Adapun tema yang ia angkat adalah kesehatan mental dengan judul “Menjaga Kesehatan di Masa Pandemi”. Selama persiapan, ia harus menyusun naskah, mencari fenomena, fakta dan juga tips menjaga kesehatan mental.

“Selama persiapan, saya tentu membutuhkan beragam fenomena dan fakta yang benar. Kemudian memecahkan masalah dan memebrikan solusi dengan riset kecil-kecilan. Hingga akrhinya bisa dijadikan bahan podcast berbagi ilmu,” ujarnya.

Mahasiswi baru FK UMM ini kembali menuturkan bahwa dalam podcastnya ia memaparkan bagaimana menjaga kesehatan di tengah pandemi. Begitupun dengan sederet tips-tipsnya. Selain itu ia juga membahas tentang konsep healing dengan macam-macamnya. “Saya tentu tidak asal comot materi. Harus melihat fenomena yang memberikan efek stress bagi banyak orang,” ucapnya menjelaskan.

Selama perlombaan ia merasa kurang bisa membagi waktu kuliah dan mempersiapkan lomba. Apalagi saat itu berbarengan dengan jadwal ujian yang tidak ringan. Kebingungan membagi waktu membuatnya merelakan waktu tidur. Beruntung, pengorbanannya memberikan hasil maksimal melalui karya procast.
