The name of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang is fragrant again. This time, Lukman Inggrit Arinusa, a student of the Development Economics Study Program, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), managed to win 2nd place in the men's doubles in the Badminton competition at the East Java level. The Badminton Championships were held by the East Java Provincial Government and were held offline at GOR Badminton Sumekar Madura, Sumenep.

As he is familiarly called, Lukman said that he was the regional representative of Sumenep Regency in the competition. He was accompanied and paired with Krisna Yudhistira to fight for the trophy on the field. The badminton competition commemorates the 752nd anniversary of the Sumenep Regency.

Furthermore, Lukman said he had been interested in badminton since elementary school (SD). He was interested since his father taught him this sport every week. Since then, achievement after achievement has been won. From the regional level to the national level. One of the prestigious achievements was winning 1st place at the Vios Open 2017. At that time, he was still studying at Ragunan High School, South Jakarta.

"I've been interested in badminton since elementary school and have often joined clubs. High school was a time when I got a lot of trophies. Moreover, my high school was focused on sports. He said that the Yonex Open is also a competition that I have conquered," he said.

According to Lukman, there is no specific time to practice. That's because he practices every week, whether there is a competition or not. He is also always optimistic that he can win the championship, even before going down and competing. He sticks to the saying that no effort betrays results.

Finally, this Sumenep native student hopes that this achievement can spur him to finish college soon. He also hopes that the campus can continue to improve facilities and support for students who have potential. "Hopefully, this victory can spread to other UMM students and be able to make UMM proud," he concluded. (apg/haq/wil)
