KESI UMM Provides 30 Free Courses for Indonesian Students

The University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) provides the Indonesian Student Extra Competence (KESI) program to equip students with extra abilities. This program, which is provided free of charge, is intended for class XII students throughout Indonesia who want to add new skills. Registration is still open until implementation in April.

Head of New Student Admissions (PMB) UMM Nurudin said that this program was an effort of the White Campus to equip young people with skills that match their passions and interests, especially among students. According to him, not many schools provide this kind of extra education, so UMM is here to provide it.

"This activity is also the White Campus' commitment to implementing independent learning at the college level and school. Provide a variety of courses according to the interests and talents of participants. Especially in an era like today, educational institutions are required to produce human resources (HR) who can adapt to an all-digital world," he said.

There are more than 30 courses that students can choose from according to what they like. Starting from Arduino coding and robotics, capital market training, botanicalpreneurship, educational content creators, and da'wah. There are also digital public speaking, Shibori Batik, 3D modeling, and other exciting courses. The participants also get many benefits if they register for KESI, namely getting a competency certificate, internet quota assistance worth 100 thousand rupiahs per student, which is transferred directly to the student's bank account, a 100 thousand rupiah registration fee discount if registering as a new UMM student, and other conveniences.

"In addition to providing extra material, this program is also a means of introducing the higher education system to third-grade senior high school students. This activity will be held offline at UMM Campus and online through the UMM Learning Management System (LMS)," the Communication Science Lecturer added.

KESI, which is the flagship program of UMM, has provided unique materials covering hard skills and soft skills for students. There will be instructors from the business-industrial world (DUDI) who will be lined up to fill out the course. That way, students can also know and know how the activities of the industrial world.

Furthermore, the program will be carried out using the tutorial method, practice, and projects for the participating students. There were four meetings consisting of two tutorial meetings, one assignment or project, and one evaluation meeting.

This breakthrough activity is expected to increase students' knowledge and experience. Not only about the world of campus but also how the world of work takes place. This program is also one of UMM's efforts in responding to the trend of the needs of today's generation. Mainly in providing fundamental field insights in various fields.
