In 2021, there will be 296,085 active lecturers with doctoral graduates. This figure is still meager compared to the education needs in Indonesia, which has 273.5 million people. Seeing this, the Postgraduate Directorate of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) held a Scientific Article Writing Training which was part of the visiting professor program. The event was held on September 24-25 at the Kapal Garden Hotel, Malang Regency.

Prof. Akhsanul In'am, Ph.D., the Director of Postgraduate UMM, said that this training aimed at helping doctoral candidates, professors, and professors write scientific papers. In total, there were 25 participants from various universities in Indonesia. Even a series of participants from overseas campuses. This plan is the fourth event that has been successfully implemented.

"During this visiting professor program, more than 211 universities from 40 universities throughout Indonesia and universities from abroad have participated," he added.

In'am, his nickname, again explained that this activity is an effort to help lecturers, prospective professors, and professors to perfect their journal work. The main thing is that it can submit it to a reputable journal. It not only assisted but also encouraged me to be able to learn independently in the process of writing to collect scientific articles.

This man from Kediri hopes that there will be a form of creative collaboration between national and international universities in the academic field after this activity. These include conferences and guest lecturers. So that literary culture, such as maintaining knowledge and collaboration between universities, can continue to be carried out.

Meanwhile, high enthusiasm came from one of the participants, Dr. Prosper Aaron. He came from the University of Sultan Idris, Perak Malaysia, believing the visiting professor program was very positive. Mainly in helping, academics write scientific articles. In addition, meetings with other scholars also allow other collaborations to be developed. He considered that this kind of activity should be encouraged, not only by UMM but also by other universities.

"Writing scientific articles and submitting them to reputable journals is a form of our responsibility as academics. So, activities like this help us perfect, improve and publish our writings," concluded Harun. (apg/haq/wil)
