The Embassy of United Arab Emirates Is Ready to Cooperate with UMM in Various Fields

The Embassy of the United Arab Emirates and the University of Muhammadiyah Malang cooperate in many aspects, including health, human resources and education. The Great Ambassador of the UAE, Abdulla Salem Al-Daheri, asserted the idea when visiting UMM on 13th December 2022. He also had a chance to deliver scientific oration and motivation in front of the graduates of the White Campus.

Abdullah, as familiarly called, values that every student who has earned their bachelor’s degree must be initiated to continue their degree at an advanced level. Gaining a bachelor’s degree does not mean that everything ends; instead, it is the beginning journey of real life. He also advised the graduates to achieve success with the effort of self-potential and passion maximisation. Then, self-capacity and capability can be the crucial keys to reaching successful life.

Abdulla also asserted that the UAE is ready to accept international students who want to continue their education background in the country. Mainly, the UAE has notable universities equipped with the best facilities. The curriculums and infrastructures, like artificial intelligence (Ai), support students' creativity.

Regarding UMM, he is very impressed with the environment provided by the White Campus for its students. Abdulla also explained that the opportunity for student and lecturer exchange programs is always available. The same chance also applies to health, human resources, education, and research collaboration. Primarily, UMM has already had an adequate and quality hospital.

“Of course, there are many things to communicate and collaborate. We always allow UMM graduates to continue their study in our country with open arms.” he added.

On the same occasion, Dr KH. Saad Ibrahim, M. A., jointly serves as the Chairman of the Regional Leadership of Muhammadiyah in East Java and the Head of Muhammadiyah Center. He said that since the beginning, the rationale of Muhammadiyah's founder could generate many quality future individuals. In his view, this idea aligns with progressive Islam, which constantly adapts to the development of era and technology.

“Muhammadiyah have contributed to many things, especially when adjusting to the era development. One of them is using astronomy studies for modern astronomical calculations. I also want UMM graduates to be able to move with the spirit of Islam applying the principle of science. Always raise the progressive Islam struggle whenever you are,” Saad uttered.

The rector of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang, Dr Fauzan, M. Pd. expects the knowledge and experience gained by the graduates to utilise well not only for themselves but also for broader society. Also, the graduates must always cling firmly to the motto “Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow” to raise their spirit to be good leaders.

“It’s time for you who are inaugurated as graduates in the Dome UMM to be leaders. Keep learning and giving huge benefits for the future of nations and Indonesia,” Fauzan said to end. (imh/haq/wil)
