At the age of its 77th independence, Indonesia has experienced various progress. However, there are still many challenges that lie ahead. Therefore, the role of young people in advancing the Indonesian nation is very much needed. This was conveyed by the General Chairperson of the Central Leadership (PP) Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Haedar Nasir, M.Si., at the national consolidation of the Muhammadiyah Youth Force (AMM). The activity was held offline at the Dome hall of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on Monday (05/09).

Furthermore, Haedar, as he is familiarly called, said that several potential problems would threaten the nation's life. The first is the division of politics and ideology. From election to election, it should be able to mature the community, so there is no division. However, the facts on the ground show that elections always give birth to new divisions. Second, there are groups of people who want power. In this case, the generation of primordialism or the desire to uphold social ties is needed.

"Lastly, there is a bias in projecting national ideology. Some small groups of people dissatisfied with the federal system try to create their ideals by using Islam as a basis. It can be a threat to the ideology of the nation and give birth to division. It must instill an understanding of the concept of Pancasila, he stressed.

Haedar also advised the Muhammadiyah Youth to get along with different people in this activity. This will open up new perspectives that they have never met. In addition, young people must also be responsive to the latest developments in science and technology and technology. This will be an essential instrument in the future progress of Muhammadiyah.

"Don't be exclusive. We have to be inclusive. Although inclusive, we must also have a strong stand and progressive views. Collaborating and learning from each other's mistakes is also important. I believe, in the hands of young people, the Muhammadiyah organization and the nation will have a progressive era," said Haedar.

On the other hand, AMM representative Diyah Puspitarini, M.Pd., explained that this event was held to accommodate ideas and thoughts from young Muhammadiyah cadres. This will also be useful for the future progress of Muhammadiyah and the nation. "In this agenda, I hope that the speakers can provide their thoughts so that they can encourage the younger generation of Muhammadiyah to produce bright ideas and innovations and provide solutions for the nation's problems," said the general chairman of the Nasyiatul Aisyiyah center.

In line with Diyah, UMM Chancellor Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., said that this consolidation is essential to identify strengths from various perspectives. The existence of this consolidation is also helpful in equalizing perceptions and ideologies for future movements.

"Many organizations have ideals but do not have consolidation in them. This makes them unable to reach the expected destination. Therefore, we must know and be observant in seeing the future so that the consolidation can run properly. The opportunity at this time is a strategic step to identify the strength of the Muhammadiyah Youth in a larger contribution," he concluded. (apg/shi/wil)
