Mental health becomes big issues that people often discuss, especially with rampant depression, which often leads to suicide attempts. Therefore, the Faculty of Psychology, University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM), together with Asia University, Taiwan, held a study and discussion to overcome this problem. This event was held on July 4.

This international program will be held for one month. It is expected that innovative solutions will emerge from the participants in quite a long time. The program coordinator, Sakinah Nur Rokhmah, S.Psi, M.Sc, emphasized this. In addition to opening up opportunities for students to gain international exposure, this agenda provides a more comprehensive understanding of mental health.

Dozens of students participated and focused on studying. Twelve of them are Taiwanese students, while several UMM students also join. They will visit several locations to see the community's mental condition, both in industries, neighborhoods, educational institutions, and others.

"The participants will participate not only in outings and short courses but also in learning through internships at our various partners. For example, in educational institutions such as SMP Inovasi and SMP Muhammadiyah 2 Malang," explained the woman familiarly called Nina.

Thus, it is expected that new research results and breakthroughs will emerge. These results will undoubtedly make a positive contribution to the development of an understanding of mental health. " The end is in August. After their internship, they are asked to write a scientific article. So we will publish their work and present it at an international psychological scientific conference which is also a part of the 37th Anniversary of the Faculty of Psychology UMM," she added.

Finally, Nina also hopes this program can encourage students to care about mental health. The participants can participate in solving mental health problems that many young people are currently feeling. "Currently, there are still many people who are struggling with an unstable mental state. Hopefully this program can be useful both for the individuals concerned and also for the treasures of psychology itself," he concluded. (Put/Hil/Wil)
