Efforts to increase internationalization continue to be carried out by the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). The Faculty of Health Sciences (FIKES) White Campus recently held an international short course entitled Collaboration Therapy in Musculoskeletal Neurological Disorder. The implementation will start from Wednesday (18/5) until mid-June.

Interestingly, the participants were not only from the White Campus. However, there were dozens of students from outside UMM who participated. Likewise with students from abroad who reached 70 people from various countries. Starting from Brazil, Vietnam, Egypt, Gambia, Yemen, Malaysia, the Philippines, and others.

Vice Rector I of UMM, Prof. Dr. Samsul Arifin, M.Sc., said that this short course is a form of academic collaboration between foreign universities. Mainly cooperation with the White Campus. Although stretched by distance and time, this program can be implemented by utilizing existing technology.

In addition, he considered that the agenda was able to increase the international atmosphere at the UMM Faculty of Health. It is hoped that other collaborations in research and publication will emerge. Even with the implementation, which is still online, it can be turned into a face-to-face meeting.

The same thing was also conveyed by the Deputy Dean III of FIKES UMM, Rakhmad Rosadi, SST, FT, MSc.PT. He considered that this activity was an initiative of the faculty to spread its wings to the international world. One of them is through a short course that discusses Musculoskeletal neurological disorders. In the future, there will be a similar program with offline, face-to-face meetings when the pandemic ends.

"So, I hope that friends from abroad can visit and feel how studying in Indonesia is. Likewise with UMM students who can have the opportunity to see and know the atmosphere of lectures in various countries," he added.

FIKES also invited various experts from various countries for the short course. There is Dr. Ironse Oliveira Silva from UniEVANGELICA Brazil, Assoc. Prof. Rumpa Boonsincukh from Thailand, Owen Nkaka, P.hD. from England, and many other presenters. (cdr/wil)
