FASI and Air Base Abd. Saleh Fully Supports UKM Blue Flying Club UMM

Air Base (Lanud) Abd. Saleh fully supports the various activities of the Blue Flying Club Student Activity Unit (UKM) of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). This was realized through the launch of the Blue Flying Club activity on Tuesday (22/2) at the Apron Airbase Abd. pious. It was marked by the affixing of the White Campus sign on the Cessna fuselage by the Airbase Commander and UMM Chancellor.

Airbase Commander Abd. Saleh Marsma TNI Zulfahmi, S.Sos., M.Han. revealed that this aerospace sport was considered expensive and high risk. So it needs caution and rigid assistance. That way, the activities carried out can run safely and smoothly as expected.

The Blue Flying Club UKM also complements the existing sports at Abd Air Base. Pious. Call it parachuting, hang gliding, aeromodelling to paramotor. This activity is also considered to enrich and expand efforts in promoting aerospace sports. It is also an opportunity for students to get new experiences trying out sports using airplanes.

" The Indonesian Aero Sports Federation (FASI) will always support the development of students who have an interest in following various procedures, such as flying classes so that they can be submitted directly for a sport pilot license," added the man who is also the Chairman of FASI East Java.

Later, the students who are members of the Blue Flying Club will also be directed by exceptional trainers who are competent and experienced. Zulfahmi also sees that the development of aerospace sports in East Java is quite good. It can be seen from the achievement of 16 medals in aerospace sports at the National Sports Week in Papua.

On the other hand, UMM Chancellor Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd. He explained that this UKM implemented the White Campus program and was determined to equip students. Not only provisions related to the chosen discipline, but also leadership skills obtained through activities while on campus. The UKM is a unit of student ideas passionate about the aerospace field. Then it was developed until it officially became a UKM provided by the White Campus.

Until now, more than 40 students have been members of the unit. Fauzan also hopes that seeds of aerospace athletes with good leadership skills will emerge. Then take part and make the name of the White Campus proud in various events. "Of course, later, the number of aircraft will continue to be increased to provide new skills that students can develop," he said.

The aircraft used by the Blue Flying Club is a Cessna PKS-L 0101 aircraft. The plane has also gone through various inspections and is deemed fit to fly and be used at Abd Airbase. Pious. Mainly as the implementation of one of the activities carried out by the new Blue Flying Club UKM. (apg/wil)
