Good news came from the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Law Department. They re-record the gold ink by achieving Excellent accreditation from BAN-PT. The Excellent Predicate is set from September 14, 2022, until 2025.

Dr. Tongat, SH. M.Hum, the Dean of the Faculty of Law UMM, said this achievement could be used as encouragement and support, significantly developing the department's quality in the future. Nevertheless, his party also continues to improve education fundamentally, whether it is related to academics or other supporting activities.

"The Law Department is fundamentally excellent. I think we have many advantages, one of which is comprehensive practicums. So that UMM Law graduates are not only theoretically skilled but also ensured that they have qualified practical skills," he explained.

It is also in line with the program that UMM, namely UMM PASTI, is promoting. Students will graduate on time within 3.5-4 years. Then, they are also ensured to be independent because they are equipped with theoretical knowledge and practical experience. That way, they can also be sure to work with those provisions.

Moreover, it is supported by a series of strategic collaborations that will help the educational process of students—starting from cooperation with government institutions and universities in Indonesia, Malaysia, to Europe. Tongat believes that students can participate in various quality academic activities such as research, practicum, internship, and others.

The author of the Material Criminal Law book also said that UMM Law Study Program is expanding its cooperation massively. Especially with universities in Europe and some reputable law schools. Then also provides a double degree program to strengthen students' potential and abilities further.

"We have also opened a Center of Excellence (CoE) for Advocate Assistant Schools. It is our effort to produce superior human resources (HR). Human resources who can compete in the world of work are armed with the comprehensive knowledge gained during this CoE," he concluded. (cdr/ros/wil)
