Yudil Chatim SKM., M.Ed as the Educational and Cultural Attache of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) of the People's Republic of China in Beijing came to visit UMM.

In the era of the 1980-the 1990s, China faced a massive crisis. In dealing with this, the Chinese government is preparing education as the foundation for building the country. Yudil Chatim SKM. said this, M.Ed as the Educational and Cultural Attache of the Embassy of the Republic of Indonesia (KBRI) of the People's Republic of China in Beijing at the Sharing and Inspiring Session of the University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM). This event was held in early October at the Sky Rooftop Rayz Hotel UMM.

Yudil explained that China can be as advanced as it is now because it puts education as the foundation. A glimpse of history states that during the crisis period, this bamboo curtain country was severe in the field of education, which was regulated in detail from elementary school to university education. The government also provides scholarships for future generations. There is even a guarantee system for every graduate.

"Every undergraduate graduate must be ready to be placed by the university. Then there will be an evaluation carried out by the sending educational institution. If the performance is not good, there will be a re-briefing or replacement of performance, "said this man from Padang.

This graduate of Huazhong Normal University, Wuhan, said that UMM has excellent potential to establish cooperation with universities in China. There are eleven universities that open Indonesian language study programs. He saw that UMM's Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) had strategic potential. In addition, the Center of Excellence (CoE) program has the charm to be developed with higher education institutions in China.

"Of course, I support that UMM can collaborate with parties in China. I will be ready to convey things that can be communicated with universities and industries there," he said.

dr. Ivan Rovian, M.Kp., the Head of the General Section of the Higher Education Service Institution Region VII East Java, said that UMM had a particular program, namely CoE. Through this program, UMM prepares graduates who are ready to work. According to him, international cooperation is the main thing to improve quality, especially with a country like China which has many advantages.

On the other hand, UMM Chancellor Dr. Fauzan, M.Pd., explained that UMM had the vision to face and welcome Indonesia's gold in 2045. One of them was through the Center for Future of Work (CFW) which was implemented directly with the CoE. This program is available in every major on the White Campus. In addition, there is also BIPA UMM which is ready to support learning Indonesian in China.

Several aspects can be developed between UMM and Industry in China. For example, PLTS schools can fill human resources with suitable qualifications and can help provide an energy supply. Even with schools of welding inspectors who can contribute to the industrial world and CoE of jewelry and minerals, they have promising opportunities. More than 40 CoEs at UMM are ready to give their work and contributions.

"Hopefully, with Mr. Yudil's presence, UMM's efforts to establish cooperation with universities or companies can find a bright spot, be it CoE, BIPA, or other study programs. The goal is to add insight or exchange knowledge," he said. (cdr/haq/wil)
