Job fair events are often organized at UMM, especially in the UMM Dome. 
Besides UMM, job fairs are often held by event organizers outside of campus.
Through the job fair alumni get the opportunity to apply for jobs in government or private institutions.

The job fair is effective for some parties who need graduates immediately.
The event is conducted as a form of UMM guidance to the alumni and is especially encouraged for those who have not had a fixed job since graduating.

The Implementation of Career Guidance and Job Information Service

At university level this kind of event is organized by the Student Affairs Bureau through the Interest-Talent and Alumni

Deptartment.
The event supplies career material to the graduate candidates after every graduation period which invites stakeholders, who need graduates, to the event.
Career guidance units at UMM exist in several faculties, among other things; Management Development Center/Pusat Pengembangan Manajemen (PPM) under the provision of Economics Faculty and career counseling and guidance held by the Psychology Laboratory. 
Although the units and the activities are on the faculty level, it also provides service to all students and graduate candidates from all faculties and study programs at UMM.
PPM and Psychology Laboratory have organized routine and periodic activities in accordance with UMM needs.

 
Several activities organized by Pusat Pengembangan Manajemen (PPM) among other things:

1)  Supplying career material; strategies for entering work environments, jobs discourse and entrepreneurship information.

2)  Organizing job fair events once a year by inviting companies from both regional and national level.
The event is aimed to help fresh graduates be immediately recruited by an employees when the event is held.
In 2006, a job fair was conducted  in co-operation with Society Service Institution/Lembaga Pengabdian Masyarakat.
 

3)   Conducting Work Knowledge Certification or CBK for students is aimed to excelerate graduates's waiting period for a job and make it easier to find information.
CBK activities are in the form of training; with the material of ISO 9000, work culture, quality control, goods procurement and human resources potency review.

4)   Establishing student entrepreneur groups (e-club.umm) starting from 2005. It is a means for students who have business and interests in entrepreneurship. The events are; business sharing, seminar or workshop, business tourism, outbond and business practice (e-cafe). Meanwhile, career counseling and guidance activities at Psychology Laboratory is provided for old students to prepare them for entering jobs with activities such as writing job applications and preparing themselves for interviews. Next, UMM will establish a Career Center.

         
Job information for graduates and students is obtained from recruitment request of employees by the stakeholder asuch as from Riau Pulp and Paper in 2006 where UMM facilitated the event in Malang area.
In 2006, Truba Jurong Engineering also conducted recruitment system at Engineering Faculty of UMM fro regional area of East Java.
Besides cooperation model for employees recruitment, so far job information is also obtained through anouncement from companies which opened  jop opportunity.
Faculties/study programs continue to announce the information on anouncement board, but the mostly the infromation comes from alumni through the companies they work in.
The information comes through phone or email directly to the faculties and study programs.
The information usually comes right at the time of graduation which wil be held.
it shows that there is a moral-bound among alumni to help each other in distributing job for the fresh gradutes.
The other form of UMM effort is by having cooperation with some companies (alumnis' companies) in order to distribute graduates with good achievements so that they will soon get jobs.
The other form of job information is though alumni website www.alumni-umm.net where there is a certain coloum of job information from the alumni.
