Orientation for new students/Pengenalan Studi Mahasiswa Baru (Pesmaba) at UMM is done to introduce new students to campus life, study and other things which support the teaching and learning process at University of Muhammadiyah Malang.

Pesmaba must be followed by all new students entering Diploma and undergraduate programs.
Students who do not participate and/or do not pass will not receive a certificate and shall follow it in the next study period.

Pesmaba is designed for 3 (three) days with some activities including: the introduction of the university, faculties, departments, functionaries, academic life, student affairs, laboratories, libraries, etc.

Pesmaba starts with an opening ceremony, continued with a general lecture at UMM Dome and finished with the closing ceremony which is also followed by a guest lecturer.
