MUHAMMADIYAH.ID, MALAYSIA - Ministry of Education of Malaysia Maszlee Malik welcomes and will assist the establishment of Universitas Muhammadiyah Malaysia.
His willingness was declared in a meeting between Ministry of Education of Malaysia and representatives of Central Board of Muhammadiyah on Wednesday (1/5) in Putrajaya.
General Secretary of Central Board of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti informed that in the meeting they discussed a plan to establish a Muhammadiyah university in Cyber Jaya, Selangor, Malaysia and to sign Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Ministry of Education of Malaysia and Central Board of Muhammadiyah.
“The Ministry of Education would also like to send Malaysian students to study at Faculty of Medicine in a Muhammadiyah university,” stated Mu’ti.
The Ministry proffered Muhammadiyah to found higher education in Perlis. Mu’ti welcomed the offer and would follow it up.
Additionally, the meeting was attended by General Chairman of Muhammadiyah Haedar Nashir; Chairman of Muhammadiyah Bachtiar Effendy; General Secretary of Muhammadiyah Abdul Mu’ti; Head of Council of Higher Education, Research, and Development of Muhmmadiyah, and rectors of Muhammadiyah higher education.
