The UMM PSWK now had changed into Lembaga Pengkajian dan Pemberdayaan Perempuan dan Anak (LP3A). It was based on the Rector Letter number 34 on 10th of November 2009.
The Vice Rector II, Drs. Mursidi, MM, explained that restructurization and reformulation of a bureau was important to synergize the empowerment activities. "Specifically, this bureau will be run in terms of education, research, community service, affirmation, advocation, and women-children empowerment," said he.
LP3A organization structure consisted of a chief, a secretary, and two division chiefs. The two divisions were the Women Empowerment division, and the Society Empowerment and Children Protection division. Each division had three teams. The first division had the Gender team, the Women Life Quality Improvement team, and the Women Protection team. While the second division had the Children Protection team, the Children Education and Health team, and the Society Empowerment team.
All facilities, administration, and organization completion of PSWK belonged to LP3A. Now, Dr. Trisakti Handayani was the Chief. While the division chief would be decided soon based on the Rector Letter. (nas/t_ris)
