New books published by UMM Press soon would be launched on Monday (10/19) in Jakarta. A book by Muhadjir Effendy would be launched in Pusat Da'wah Muhammadiyah Menteng Raya St. 62, Jakarta. Entitled "Jati Diri dan Profesi TNI: Studi Fenomenologi", the book was edited from the Rector’s dissertation.
Not only the launching, the event would also be followed by the book reviewing. Kusnanto Anggoro (CSIS), Riefki Muna (LIPI) and keynote speaker Letjen Bambang Darmono (general secretary of Wantannas) were present. While M. Alfan Alfian, political observer who was also UMM alumni, was the moderator.
The Executive Chief of the event Drs. Wahyu Hidayat, MM said that it was intended to introduce UMM Press books to the public. "Especially if the book is a phenomenal work as Muhadjir’s, of course it will be very good as the material to be reviewed," said Wahyu who was also the Director of UMM Press.
The reason why it was held in Jakarta, Wahyu said that it was to build the academic culture as well as for promotion. "I hope books published by UMM Press will be good books in this capital city," Wahyu hoped. ( t_ris)
