The chief of Daily Executive Board (BPH) University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Prof. H.A Malik Fajar reminded that everyone should perform good deeds for the benefit of humanity. Moslems, he argued, should be the main promoter who encourages to do good deeds and prevents the destructive action.
Citing the letter al-Imran verse 110, Malik said, Moslems were the main excellent mankind. The superiority of Islam's vision was the ideal of continuous effort that can be achieved in a variety of positions. "Wherever we stand, perform wisdom, do good, and do your best to others. By doing good as much as possible, we have prevented misguidance," he said in a study of Ramadan for UMM lecturers and staff on Tuesday (7/24).
Excellent mankind, Malik continued, was the one who capable to perform wisdom in building good deed. That was, mankind who catched the slightest wisdom of life. In a position as an employee, for example, people must be able to do for their institution in order to be superior. All positions in doing work were important to build institutions. "Everyone here should be able to take lessons, on the wisdom of UMM existence, the wisdom of your role at UMM benefits the family and neighbors," said the former Minister of Religion.
To build a winning organization, Malik added, care must be built. Careless attitude, indifference, irresponsibility should be avoided. "Everyone should think for the work to old, do not be old because of overburdened by thinking over on the matter," said Malik. He added, responsible person at his job means he had to worship.
On the success of building hospitals, gas stations, hotels and other units followed, Malik asked that it could be interpreted as the work of UMM congregation, works of managers, employees, including students. Therefore, keeping the mandate to manage them was really important. "So, be very careful of taking care of these people. It is a big mandate," he said.
Furthermore, Malik kept constantly reminded to maintain togetherness. UMM leaders and all employees must establish the dignity of the academic community. An academic identity lies in how to act as a lecturer, researcher, including serving students the best.
In the midst of tighter competition, Malik also invited the audience in order to maintain public confidence for UMM. The campus must transform to realize the ideals of the founders and predecessors of Muhammadiyah who would like to have a strong and enlightening campus. That is why the confidence and trust must be built as well as possible. Without trust, an institution would not be nothing.
"Work with all your heart, be serious, sincere, dedicated, and istiqomah as well as being totality. Show to people that UMM was not only good in its building but also great in its quality. Make a solemn atmosphere on this campus," added the former UMM Rector and former minister of this RI.
This Islamic recitation, event that would be continued by open fasting together, was followed by at least 400 UMM lecturers and employees. The Rector Muhadjir Effendy and the Secretary of BPH accompanied Malik. (nov/nas/t_vik)
