The Rector of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) Muhadjir Effendy asked whole lecturers and employees to get ready in welcoming the new family. They were the candidate of new students who will enroll in the academic year of 2012/2013.
Until now, said the rector, UMM was still very trusted by people so that at each new student enrollment the number were exploded. At cohort I and II, there were more than 10,000 registrants and 5,000 of them had been received to re-register. At cohort III which will be closed on August 11, 2012, the target of students would be around 2000. They would participate in the selection so that the total of new students who would be received about 5,600 to 6,000.
In addition to encouraging for always grateful on this condition, Muhadjir also asked everyone including himself to act as a servant to invite anyone. He himself stated, to act as servant for students and their parents. of students. If there is a request for information, we should inform the best as we know, as detailed as possible, because they might not quite know technically but admiration for this campus.
“It is very important to always be friendly, care, and helpful. Try think of ourselves as those who need help," said the rector on his accompanying to the chairman of Daily Implementation Board (BPH) UMM HA Malik Fadjar when he delivered his speech for Ramadan at Theater Dome on Tuesday (7/24).
In addition, the rector also asked to maintain unity and togetherness. According to him, knowing the individual responsibilities and do not look for someone else's responsibility is considered as important character so that the work becomes the primary focus. "Grow an attitude of mutual trust," said the rector.
Rector targeted, the procurement of UMM students were together with home equity area. There was now an encouraging percentage in which students from outside of East Java had reached 40%. This expansion was important to remember that UMM wanted to make itself as belonging of Muhammadiyah for the nation.
During Ramadan month, the routine activity for lecturers and staff were reduced. But the rector hoped that the activities related with Ramadan were reproduced. UMM had organized a committee and put together a program for faculty, staff, and students to participate in various activities of Islamic teaching, self-reflection, congregational prayer, reciting holy Qur’an, and social charity.
