Short Course of Syariah Accounting for the 4th cohort lasted at BAU Hall of University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on Wednesday (6/27). The agenda that was organized by Accounting Laboratory Faculty of Economics and Business UMM followed by hundreds of accounting students in academic year of 2009.
Muhammad Faisol, one of the committees declared, the agenda was a part of Student Added Value Program (SADAP). “Whole students who has taken Syariah-Based Accounting get additional knowledge from this short course,” he said.
In Accounting Department of UMM, Syariah Accounting course was given as an obvious character. It gained an appreciation from Wiroso, the member of Syariah Accounting Standard Council. “So far, I see UMM has ran the course of Syariah-Based Accounting well,” he said.
However, he regretted some universities that only use the course as an elective course. In fact, syariah banks opened job vacancy for university graduates. Besides, several students understoond the bank conventionally; it would be, of course, different from the syariah one.
In addition, Wiroso was honored by UMM to be the speaker from its first managing. He visualized more about the job, so that they could apply their knowledge when applying job in syariah-based bank. “I hope the other universities use UMM as an example,” he highlighted. Having basic knowledge during the lecture, UMM graduates would not be uneasy applicant when they want to apply in syariah-based bank. (uci/nas/t_vik)
