University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) through International Relation Office (IRO) presented Campus France to provide clear information for students who want to study abroad on Thursday (4/26). Taking place in BAU Hall, four resources in which three of them came from France were invited to the event. Siska, person in charge of Campus France in Surabaya, socialized her institution which might help students to study in France.
Siska explained France is a country with low cost of education. “If we compare the education cost between Indonesia and Prancis, there will be the same nominal cost,” said Siska. Besides, the beautiful country also becomes tourist destination. Siska added students would not be bored studying there. They would be able to not only learn, but also enjoy old and interesting cities of France.
There are also many study programs with various departments. Students are not to be afraid to choose the field of study at campuses there. “The good campus selection helps students to choose department based on their interest ans skill,” said Siska representing her three friends from France.
Siska also said students not to be worried of French. CampusFrance provides English programs for students who want to study there. Thus, the students would participate in English-instructed courses.
However, for those who want to test French skill, there are programs availabe by showing DELF or DALF, test. This French test is provided by Intitut France Indonesia (IFI). Owning the certificate would allow students to choose campus of destination.
Siska also added that Muslim should not be worried as well. She explained there is no restriction on wearing jilbab. The prohibition in wearing religious attributes occurs until senior high school only. In addition, 20% of French is Muslim. It facilitates Muslim to perfom prayer there. Thus, UMM students are not necessary to be affraid studying in France. (uci/nas/t_alf)
