Health Ministry: Education Hospital is Non Profit-Oriented Institution

Health Ministry of RI Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih Surveyed UMM Education Hospital, she was accompanied by UMM Rector Nuhadjir Effendy.
 
 

            Health Ministry of Republic Indonesia (RI), dr. Endang Rahayu Sedianingsih, MPH, Dr, PH hoped private university education hospital was not intended for a profit. It must prioritize the service for disadvantage community. Therefore, she will help beds provisioning for patients in class III, they were disadvantage patients. Besides, she also hoped for Muhammadiyah bigger role to add the service.  
     

The word was said by the minister in her visit to University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) on Saturday (12/24). She came for delivering the speech in National Symposium by the topic “To Prioritize Children’s Right for Actualizing Healthy and Competitive Generation”.  It was organized by the Center for Woman and Children Empowerment (LP3A) of UMM. In that occasion, the minister delivered medical instrument aid to facilitate Stay-over Treatment Installation (IRNA) for those disadvantage patient in class III at UMM education hospital. In addition, the ministry itself signed the inscription of UMM Health (Fikes) and Medical Faculty (FK) new building along with FK’s building, Osce.    
 

 “We have to work hard to aid the beds for class III for whole hospitals in Indonesia along with establishing Pratama Hospital, hospital that is intended for those disadvantage patients. We do hope for Muhammadiyah role in establishing the hospital that only for class III located in remote area, and it is for only 30 beds,” she stated.
   

The minister and the Vice Governor of East Java Saifullah Yusuf were accompanied by UMM Rector Muhadjir Effendy and UMM Daily Organizer Board (BPH) Prof.H.A Malik Fadjar surveyed the education hospital that located at Jl.Tlogomas. Representing East Java Governor, the vice governor inaugurated IRNA building that aided by Province Govt for approximately Rp 7 billion. It also was attended by East Java and Malang Health Govt Service.   

Furthermore, the ministry stated, to get called as education hospital was not easy way. There were requirements-- university must have vision and mission along with its good management, administration, standardized human resources, continuing education, and qualified standard planning. “Education hospital has double functions, as well: to deliver good service into community and to provide as learning place,” she added.  
 

            Meanwhile, the minister had also elaborated on women’s work. “What they are to be, women’s first duties are educating and growing their children,” declared the minister.

Indonesia’s children growth, said the minister, based on population census in 2010, children population for the age of 0-19 year old was 89 million, it really potential for nation’s development. So, it must be supported by sufficient health and educational service for being resistant from negative influence and being competitive. “We need to pay fully attention to children and young generation’s health and education for their being in school from primary up to university level.
   

            The minister declared, the involvement to legalize UU BPJS (Social Insurance of Organizer Board) was for strengthening the health insurance system for Indonesian society. It will be run in 2014—it hoped to assist disadvantaged society while the cost will be paid by the govt—called as Fee Aid Recipient (PBI). “Jamkesmas is based on the system, and today, the Health Ministry has allocated RP 6.000 to each person per month for 76,4 million people, so, they can utilize it for medicine,” explained  the minister.
   

            Beside the Health Minister, the symposium was also attended by the member of RI House Representative in IX Commission Hj. Endang Syarwan Hamid, S.Ip, the Consultant of Children’s Growth Dr.Mardhani Yosoprawoto, and the Head of LP3A of UMM Dr. Trisakti Handayani.

            The rector, in his speech, hoped, the symposium contributed meaningful benefit for UMM even the nation. Moreover, to prepare young generation, the one who keep going forward for future life. The agenda held was suit the moment of Mother’s Day, Muhadjir added. “As a part of Muhammadiyah, UMM take big role on three aspects: education; health service; and social welfare. For that, UMM Education Hospital hopes to be the reference for Muhammadiyah around Indonesia” he said.

            Similar to the rector, the Vice Governor of East Java Saifullah Yusuf stated, the hospital would help the patient in selecting the hospital for not going to Surabaya. dr. Soetomo Hospital had been really busy with patients, then, we need some other hospitals to reduce them, as well. “This hospital will serve disadvantaged people with Jamkesnas even Jamkesda, it will of course be supported by the district itself and the Province of East Java,” said Gus Ipul, his familiar name.

            A long the way, he also declared, in East Java, there were 1.600 babies birthed in a month. From hundred delivered mothers, there were 102 babies passed away and from 1000 babies who alive there were 30 passed away. “Three problems faced in East Java: the limited access in education due to poverty, then, it forced the children to work; the number of passed away babies; the children harshness,” Saifullah stated.

            After visiting UMM Education Hospital, the Health Ministry came to UMM Campus II to survey the new building for lecture and the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE) building along with some laboratories existed there. (bib/nas/t_vik)
