UMM Hajj Pilgrims Are Expected to Pray for Institution

 All the hajj entourage members from UMM are taking photo together after receiving briefing on hajj departure.

A A number of 29 UMM staffs will leave for hajj. They consist of five staffs and 24 lecturers along together with their wives or husbands from various work units. UMM hajj belongs to Kloter 78 Surabaya and will depart on October 27, 2011.

A release for UMM hajj pilgrims was held on Saturday, (10/15) in senate meeting room. UMM Rector, Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP, gave a briefing and advice before releasing them. “Earnestness is very important to leave for hajj,” said Rector. The earnestness must be maintain consistently during the hajj by avoiding to speak toward sexual desire, fusyuk, and blasphemen others.   

Besides, Rector also said not to think much on souvenirs. Without concentration, hajj cannot be totally performed. “Thus, multiply your worship,” said him. In addition, totality might be interpreted as thing needed in facing strong temptation. He expected the pilgrims not to be afraid of the temptation since every journey of faith will be tested. On the other hand, they should not feel proud for if they do not get test, perhaps Allah would not make them suceed and Allah would suceed those who have passed His test.

Secretary of Daily Executive Board of UMM, Drs. Wakidi, said hajj pilgrims need to keep doing good deeds through UMM before or after performing hajj. He also asked the pilgrims to pray for the institution. “Please pray not only for yourselves and families, but also for this institution,” said Wakidi.

Vice Rector II, Drs. Mursidi, MM, explained that UMM staffs obtain a full funding assistance on performing hajj. Meanwhile, assistance for lecturers is only in the form of subsidy of the total cost. “Insyaallah we will annually send staffs for hajj. Of course, thay have to be patient waiting for their turns,”  said Mursidi.

Joko Siswanto who have obtained his hajj opportunity from the university conveyed his gratitude. “I'm so much grateful for this opsortunity.  Without it, it would be just a dream,”  said Joko who was being Chief of Interest and Talent Division at Student Affairs Bureau of UMM.

From 29 UMM pilgrims, two of them will leave from their area of origin, namely Ir. Rofikatul Karimah, MT from Madura, and Drs. Estu Widodo, M.Hum from Banyuwangi.

Below are names of the pilgrims. The following names will leaver for hajj with their wives; Ir. Lukito Prasetyo, MT with Ir. Andri Sulaksmi; Ir. Diding Suhardi, MT, with Dr. Masiyah Kholmi; Drs. Joko Asihono, M.Si with Dra. Erna Retno Rahadjeng, MM; and Ir Harpowo with Dra Sri Wibawani, M.Si.

In addition, the following names will leave for hajj with their husbands; Dra. Nurul Asfiah, MM with Sigit Kusmaryanto; Sri Budhi Cantika Yli, SE, MM, with Setyo Wahono; Dr Idah Zuhroh, MM with Suratno; Dra. Sudarti, M.M with Joko Siswanto, S.Sos; Dra. Sri Wahyuni latifah, MM with Eko Pundyantoro; and Dr. Lili Zalizar with Sjaiful Achjar. Moreover, the others are Ir Listiarini Hendraningsih, MP, Ir. Muhtadawati, Akhmad Sudarso, Mukhamat Isman, Suyanto, Ir. Rofikatul Karimah, MT, Drs. Estu Widodo, M.Hum, Drs. Wakidi, and Drs. Aris Soelisyo, Msi. (rin/nas/t_alf)
