Dahlan Iskan, the Director of State-Owned Electricity Company (PLN) declared his regretness of not being student of Electrical Department. Being PLN Director, he aware that electrical was very useful thing for long-term life. For instance, in electricity, the longer the more expensive the cost was. Otherwise, tellecommunication was getting cheaper. So, he really wanted the students of Electrical Department worked hard on electricity. Furthermore, in the seek of PLN improvement.
Those above was stated by Dahlan in his meeting with many students of Electrical Department Faculty of Engineering University of Muhammadiyah Malang (UMM) after he delivered his speech at UMM Graduation on Saturday (17/9).
Dahlan was invited to deliver his academic oration in front of 1044 graduates and thousand of audiences at UMM Dome. Besides, Dahlan was asked to sign the inscription of UMM Micro Hydro Power Plant (PLTMH) II development. Signing the inscription, Dahlan, accompanied by Chairman of UMM Daily Executor (BPH), Prof.HA. Malik Fadjar, observed its site and laid the first stone.
In his speech, Dahlan ever stated that todays' graduates were very lucky generation for the productive age. In addition, for the next 10 years, Indonesian's economic will be in the strong level where per capita revenue achieves up to 10.000 US Dollar. "Productive age accumulation along with good economic condition will be very beneficial for you all," he said. Thus, Dahlan Iskan asked the graduates did not be worried toward the chaotic political issue. Furthermore, he emphazised that the most important thing to be considered was to always run the economy.
Commenting on UMM PLTMH, Dahlan really appreciated positively. According to him, developing PLTMH in campus area was such a great thing for educational laboratory. Moreover, it will inspire huge society. The development of PLTMH II was expected to strengthen UMM attitude toward independent electricity campus in future.
In the same occasion, Dahlan got technical explanation about PLTMH II from Vice Director of Center for Assessment and Application of Renewable Energy, Ir.Suwingyo, MT. Spontaneously, Dahlan was willing to give spoiller (electrical tool) for PLTMH development.
PLTMH II will be built not far from PLTMH I in Agriculture area. When PLTMH I resulted in 100 KWh, PLTMH II would only resulted in 80 KWh. Both PLTMH are laboratory that would be utilized for campus enlightenment and academic visit.
“Up to now, more than 3000 visitors were coming to learn at UMM PLTMH," stated Suwignyo.
Dahlan admitted that he knew well with UMM Rector, Muhadjir Effendy also the Chairman of BPH, Malik Fadjar. He assessed, UMM enourmousness was because of its manager cohesiveness. "I do believe UMM become bigger due to the cohesiveness between institution and university," he declared before visiting UMM hospital development location.
