The UMM dakwah sequence, through the social service as a form of servicing the community, was ended at Ngijo village, Karangploso Malang, on Sunday (8/21). About 200 people who were in need came to the UMM social service post to get the aid. It was free groceries and medical treatment. UMM, cooperated with Malang Lazis Muhammadiyah and Muhammadiyah Regional Board for Malang, held the same event at Pakis and Ampelgading.

There was something different with the social service held at Ngijo Village. It was because UMM involving the Indonesian army (TNI) from Militarry District Command 0818 for Malang-Batu. Zaenuri, from the Command, stated that the army appreciated it. “The Indonesian army is part of the society and this social service is part of our duty,” said he. The army provided the tents and medical staffs for the event.

The Muhammadiyah Chief for Karangploso Mustakim, thanked UMM, Malang Lazis Muhammadiyah, and the Muhamadiyah Regional Board for Malang for the aid. Mustakim hoped Muhammadiyah would keep doing this positive event.

The Daily Board Secretary Drs. Wakidi agreed with Mustakim. He hoped Muhammadiyah would get closer to the society. “Whenever Muhammadiyah is, we will always try to implement amar ma’ruf nahi mungkar. We intend to develop this nation through the education and health," explained Wakidi.

For that event, UMM delegated its Medical Centre staffs: 4 doctors, 5 Medicine students, and a pharmacist to handle the free medical treatment. “We bring you the real doctors here, so do not be afraid of being unwell-handled," Wakidi convinced the society.

Meanwhile Suratmi, one of those who got the free groceries, said that she did not need to be worry anymore. It was because UMM had given what she would need for the Ied. “I thank UMM for it," said she. (vid/nas/t_ris)
