| Para calon mahasiswa baru terlihat serius mengerjakan soal-soal ujian tes masuk UMM |
Today was the UMM entrance test cohort II (6/9). About 5.199 new students-would-be joined the test at not only UMM Dome but also the classes of GKB. Their family seemed waiting for them outside and enjoying the UMM scenery.
The Chief of Students Admission, Dr. Ir. Ermanu Azizulhakim, MT stated that the number of the registrants could be bigger that today. It was because 250 online registrants had already payed but they did not join the interview test and take the test number. Most of them were from other cities and islands.
The test ran well. The UMM Rector Dr. Muhadjir Effendy, MAP and the Vice Rector I Prof. Dr. Ir. Sujono also directly monitored it. And so did the deans. The registrants should do the scholastic and English test. The result would be informed on Wednesday (6/13).
Ermanu added that the society enthuasism on the cohort I and II proved that they did have the right choice. It was also proved by 3.212 registrants on first cohort, even the SMNPTN had not been started yet. It meant that UMM was the first choice for them. And so was the second cohort. “Today, there are entrance test of 12 state universities, but thank Allah, the participant for UMM reaches big number,” explained Ermanu.
The number of selected registrants on this second cohort, still, waited for the result of today’s test. Each department, said Ermanu, had different grade in accepting the students. “The result will be based on the test and be discussed by the leaders,” said he.
Meanwhile, UMM also opened the third cohort registration on 12th of July till August. But, there might be some departments which would not open the registration for the quota was full. “The registrants still have time to think about the department they will choose if they want to join the third cohort registration,” continued Ermanu.
The material for the test today was, still, the same as the previous test. It was English and scholastic test. For the Medicine Faculty registrants, the healthy test would be held after the result. When they registered, they were motivationally interviewed by the officers.
The registrants enthuasism was because UMM kept improving to be the qualified university. UMM had proved itself as a good private university through its achievements. “I am proud of being an UMM student. That is why I ask my brother to register to UMM,” said Ratih Wulan Pinandu, an English department student.
On the test, there was a handicapped registrant. She was Felisitas. Using her own chair, she joined the test and chose Psychology faculty and Social Welfare department. “I hope I can pass this test. I will stay with my family in Malang,” said she. (nas/t_ris)
