H. Tri Lestari M.kep. SP. Mat came up as the speaker together with several personals from ODHA, the ex-“ayam kampus” from Jakarta, and condom ambassador. The discussion of HIV (Human Immunodeficiency Virus) and AIDS (Acquired Immune Deficiency Syndrome) is currently considerable to be public attention.
Tri Lestari elaborated on "Teens, Free Sex, and HIV". She revealed that everyone who was a teenager would have changed physically and psychologically, both men and women. Puberty in males was characterized by wet dreams and secondary changes such as the sound began to change and the growing hair in some limbs. Besides, a female reproductive organ, according to Tri Lestari, was strongly associated with the womb as a place of egg development to be a baby when it was fertilized, the hymen that located in the vagina, and the breasts which was one of the female sex hormone secretions instead of vagina.
Physical and emotional changes along with the lack of parents’ control and environmental influences either from school or even from outside of it to be the main cause of adult free sex. Adolescent’s change such as his desire want to be looked different in his life style was supported by cross-cultural intersection, the development of communication and information technologies, as well as some bad movies in mass media grow gave them a chance to do free sex.
“Somehow, without realizing it, free sex gave significant negative impact such as breaking the future due to early marriage and being pregnancy as well as suffered with sexually transmitted diseases (PMS),” explained Tri.
In addition, Tri added, PMS must be treated, otherwise, it could be worse. Moreover, it would infect his partner in sexual relationship. However, there were some PMS that could not be treated, namely HIV/AIDS. This disease is clearly influential to reproductive function.
To fortify themselves from those dangerous diseases, Tri expected teenager to be more remembering Allah much, considering their parents, and the future. Tri also provided a solution to the problem faced that is to; be positive self-concept, be selective against environmental influences, fill out leisure activities positively, chose the right friends, have a good friend, set future goals, manage time with discipline and stress positively.
“Having sex is not the reason as a proof of love because if your partner does have love, it can be proofed by giving an attention, respect, and loyalty. If it is the true love, he will keep you and not touch you excessively,” said the Dean of Health Science Faculty in front of 300 adult participants.
Beside through contaminated needles, HIV mother’s breast milk (ASI), and blood transfusion, free sex became one of the transmissions of the influential HIV/AIDS virus. “It is completely wrong if HIV/AIDS infect through kissing, sneezing, cough, drinking from the same glass, sweat, having contact, mosquito’s bite, sterile needle, toilet seat, or even shaking hands,” he said.
Furthermore, Tri added, HIV/AIDS was really susceptible to attack gay, prisoners, adult and children, night worker, prostitute, sailor, harbor, health worker, and so forth. In addition, the use of narcotics through hypodermic needle needed to be alerted due it changeable and many used. “HIV/AIDS cannot be long lasting by drinking ARV medicine; it can prevent HIV/AIDS virus development as long as people don’t influent it through free sex, breast feed, hypodermic needle, and so forth,” declared Tri Lestari while closing her speech.
